Intro
The degree and the Oracle certifications are the foundation. Since 2013 I have spent thirteen years in commercial software - more than a dozen business domains, from retail and wholesale ERP to news and claims platforms, formal verification, affiliate performance stacks, payment operations, GIS at scale, mobile products, and eCommerce. I have worked with global teams of ten, twenty, three hundred, and more than a thousand people; client organizations ranged from roughly $600,000 to $200 million in revenue.
Senior Engineering Manager - Beneficial AI Foundation · VeriLib
VeriLib is the Beneficial AI Foundation's open formal verification library - aimed at making proof that code meets its specifications practical, growing a shared corpus of verified software, and widening adoption with AI-assisted workflows. I lead product engineering for the platform where teams connect their codebases, explore verification status in context, tailor what stakeholders see, and publish progress reports - staying hands-on on architecture, releases, and delivery across the stack.
I also treat documentation as a product: a shared MkDocs hub on GitHub Pages, reviewable Markdown, and placeholders for gaps we have not filled in yet.
Lead Engineer - Improve the News Foundation · Verity.news
Verity is a free ad-free news platform from the Improve the News Foundation that counters media bias with nuanced, fact-grounded coverage - AI drafts from thousands of sources, journalists refine before publication. I build the editorial tools behind it: story and claims editors, user management, AI in drafting workflows, newsletters, and the systems that connect the newsroom to verity.news, apps, and email.
Founder & principal engineer - Source Craft
Freelance and consultancy across platform modernization, web/API delivery, server configuration, mobile backends, and full-stack product delivery. Built retail scrapers and APIs crawling millions of products daily; shipped diet and lifestyle iOS apps with full backend and subscription logic; mentored career-switchers into software engineering; delivered eCommerce, chatbot, and marketing-API integrations (Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat) with explicit attribution boundaries.
Solution architect & senior web developer - Via Trading
Wholesale distribution ERP and operational platform work: performance stabilization and scalability planning, MySQL/PHP remediation, introduction of modern delivery practices, socket-based online auction bidding, custom product-matching search (adapted Levenshtein), and cross-layer diagnosis across legacy ERP, operational tools, and public commerce - including tracing inventory and pricing inconsistencies back to source-data semantics.
Senior software engineer - mSTART
Large-scale Oracle retail software in a 30-person team for one of the Adriatic region’s largest retailers - first-in-region adoption of a new-generation Oracle platform, leading to hundreds of follow-on implementation days for another retailer. mStart later completed Europe-first Oracle Retail 16.0.1 upgrades at Konzum BiH and Mercator BiH - from release 13.2.5, delivered entirely by mStart consultants with ADF, Java, and Oracle Service Bus integration.
Back-end developer - GIS Cloud, Zagreb
Google Drive–like file-management subsystem for a GIS platform with 100,000+ users, delivered in nine months. Async long-running REST flows with RabbitMQ and PHP; platform API work across PostgreSQL-backed services.
Oracle developer - Kogitas, Varaždin
Oracle E-Business Suite CEMLI customizations; seven test and one go-live data migration for Unite Students, the UK’s largest student accommodation provider (50,000+ students); cross-platform Mobile SysAdmin app (Oracle MAF, PL/SQL, SOAP→REST middleware); recruitment process design; ISO 9001 workflow documentation; automated release tooling and nightly functional releases. Mix of remote, office, and extended on-site work in Bristol, UK.
iOS developer (contract) - Colombio, Varaždin
Crowd-reporting iOS application for a startup - citizens send text, photos, and video to media contacts. Fully remote contract; Objective-C client against REST APIs.
Developer intern - Info Novitas
CRM product development - first IT company role, learning an internally built stack and fixing defects over roughly seven months.
Toptal network - verified freelancer
I have been a Toptal-verified freelancer since 2014 - accepted after four interview rounds and two weeks of technical screening.
Demonstrator & lecturer - Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI)
Programming 2 (OOP in C++) demonstrator for two semesters; co-designed and delivered introductory programming and database courses. Taught C++ from basics through data structures, algorithms, and OS concepts (threads, processes, IPC); introductory work with the EASy68K assembler simulator.
Selected projects
Engineering documentation hub
For VeriLib I treated docs as a platform, not a wiki dump. One central MkDocs site indexes selected component repositories; detailed pages stay close to the code; public and internal material have different doors. The first skeleton was demoed to the team so component owners could fill their pages instead of waiting for someone else to invent the story.
Secure payment operations platform
Built a web platform for teams that move money on behalf of clients - onboarding payees, reviewing pending transfers, approving releases, and reconciling history. Access is gated with two-factor authentication on every sensitive action; operators and administrators have separate roles so nobody can bypass the approval chain. The goal was practical security: credentials never shared, no payout without verification, and a clear audit trail finance can trust.
Affiliate marketing - full-stack performance engineering
Years of deep, hands-on work owning the affiliate performance stack end to end - not configuring tools for others, but building and running the systems that connect ad spend to verified revenue. That means provisioning landing pages, wiring postback relays and network integrations (Everflow, Cake, Voluum), standing up Conversion API server-side events so attribution survives browser loss, and building the dashboards and exports finance and media buyers actually use.
Alongside delivery: fraud and traffic-quality controls (NoIP-style IP filtering), custom attribution when off-the-shelf trackers fall short, and a custom fork of bir.ch when the commercial rules engine needed client-specific workflows. On paid media: a Business Manager operations console (billing, finance, spend, account inventory, resync pipelines) and rule-based automation across Meta and TikTok - token lifecycle, scheduled metric rules, pause/start and budget actions, live performance views.
Crypto trading systems
Ongoing work on automated crypto trading bots - not one script, but a small family of systems. One stack runs an hourly allocator with hard safety gates, exchange integration, operational dashboard, and Telegram alerting; decisions are model-assisted with explicit fallback to hold when inference fails. A larger copilot-style platform layers graded trade setups, multi-source signal confluence, a shadow ledger for paper-only evaluation, and backtesting so every rule is tested against history before it touches live capital.
Clearance Spot
eCommerce platform fed by web crawlers across five retailers - 300,000+ products indexed daily with Solr search and API layer; native iOS app mirroring the web experience.
Interlingual Subtitle Voicing App - University of Surrey
A web app built for the University of Surrey to support speech-to-text translation. Research project using Google’s speech-to-text API to aid translation of TV shows and movies - aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of the subtitle workflows used by Netflix and other media companies.
Hackathon winner - Faculty of Organization and Informatics
24-hour faculty hackathon - winning team of four. Built a web app for blood-donation institutes and a mobile app for donors; healthcare partners later adopted the concept for continued development.
